Wow!  April is already here and once again I haven't posted in a long while.  When spring is in the air you know what that brings?  Yes that's right spring storms.  So if anybody feels the need to go chasing just give me a holler.

This week will be nice and short since I get to be flown to Houston for a conference on the company's dime.  That means eat whatever I want, whereever I want because they will reimburse you for everything.  So I'm excited, we leave Sunday afternoon.  I've never been to Houston, but people say your not missing much.  Now I get to see for myself.  Well that's all I got for now.

Well it has been a very long time since I have posted, but that's what happens when life gets busy.  Although now that I feel my place of work is going to be stable for a while, I have got the feeling that it's time to settle down.  Possibly get a place of my own, if I could afford it, find the love of my life, get married, have a family, live the life I've always dreamed about.  Maybe I've only started thinking this way because a number of my friends are either married or are about to be married, but at the very least it has got me thinking about things.

OK, onto other items of importance.  I was wondering if anybody out there would be interested, or knows someone who would be interested in going to Vegas either the last week in February or the first week in March, because the person that was going to go with me doesn't know if they can, but he will know by Monday.  If you're interested this would be the prices,  $160.40 for round trip airfare, around $100 for hotel plus tax, and any gambiling money you would want to bring over the top of that.  I'll plan to put in the edit outlining his final decision on either Monday night or sometime on Tuesday.  Well I guess that's all for now.

Boy I haven't in a while!  Well when life gets busier I see less of my computer.  Since the last time that I posted I managed to be diagnosed with two tennis elbows, which came from my lifting weights every other day in my fitness program.  Then the doctor looked at my neck, where I had a cyst removed 3 years ago, determined that it was coming back and that I needed to have surgery last week.  When it came time to get it removed last Thursday the doctor felt around the back of my neck and said she couldn't operate.  Shocked, I ask, "Why?"  She said the cyst was gone and she wasn't going to operate on something that see could not see.  So I will be very happy if it never comes back again.  Ok, enough of my blubbering and onto the BCS picks which I know most of you, or the few that view my site, have been impatiently waiting to see.

Rose Bowl

USC  vs.  Texas

Fiesta Bowl

Notre Dame  vs.  Penn St.

Sugar Bowl

Georgia/LSU  vs.  Ohio St.

Orange Bowl

West Virginia/South Florida  vs. Virginia Tech

Could be some interesting matchups, minus the Va. Tech game.  Notre Dame will be the first pick for the Fiesta Bowl commitee because of their following.  For now I would say that Ohio St. has the inside track to the other at-large spot.  I'm out.  Have a great Thanksgiving!

Wednesday, October 26, 2005

Well this week has started oout busier than others.  I enjoyed having my family come down and visit.  It always goes by too fast, but not too far down the road is Christmas. :)  OU played in its first ever overtime game and won, but sadly enough it was against an improved Baylor team. (watch out Pokes)  After watching Texas overtake USC in the BCS polls I decided to switch up my weekly football post.  Starting this week I will be giving my BCS predictions.

Rose Bowl   USC vs. Texas

I see this matchup staying the same unless USC loses to either Cal or UCLA, or someone has a very unfortunate defeat.

Sugar Bowl   Alabama vs. Florida St.

I think I'll give the nod to Alabama even though they have had some close wins I think they have a good chance to possibly win out, but if they lose insert Georgia here.  The Sugar Bowl gets an at-large team and right now I'm guessing the Seminoles.  This would be an intriguing match-up if it occurs.

Fiesta Bowl   Virginia Tech vs. Notre Dame

Virginia Tech is still hoping to go to the Rose Bowl, but if everything remains the same they go to the Fiesta Bowl because the Fiesta Bowl commitee gets first pick since Texas is in the championship.  The Irish will make it to a BCS bowl as long as the win the rest of their games, which I see them doing.  The only problem is that any of the three remaining bowl could take them because of the audience that they would draw.

Orange Bowl   Penn St. vs. West Virginia

Joe Pa goes BCS, who would have thought, but this game looks to be pretty weak if it stands.  West Virginia wins the Big East as long as they beat S. Florida Dec. 3rd.  Also if Penn St. chokes towards the end of the season insert Ohio St. here.

OU at Nebraska, 11am, ABC.  Have a wonderful week!

Monday, October 17, 2005

Well this past weekend I saw another birthday come and go.  At least OU won, because my other team, along with Notre Dame, decided to mess things up.  Although I have family that will be coming in this weekend and that is a great gift all in itself.  Back to football, the first BCS poll came out this week and as a surprise Texas holds off Va. Tech.  Let's get to the poll...

Stock's Solid Ten (Week 8)

1.  USC   The refs gave USC the game in the last seconds, because the ball should have been placed at the 3, not the 1.  Made a huge difference in the game.

2.  Texas   Had an easy time rolling over Colorado.

3.  Virginia Tech   Coming off of a bye week they get to play on Thursday night.  Look for the Hokies to roll over Maryland.

4.  Georgia   Should have an easy time at Arkansas.

5.  Alabama   Continued to stay undefeated with a last second field goal to beat Ole Miss.

6.  Texas Tech   Raiders continue their domination over their opponents, face tough challenge against Texas this week.

7.  Miami   Hurricanes still looking really good, but need to get tested by a better team in order to see true side of team.

8.  Notre Dame   Yes, I did move the Irish up even though they lost, but they should have won and they will probably still end up in a BCS bowl.

9.  UCLA   Bruins remain undefeated, could be USC's next toughest challenge.

10.  LSU   Tigers continue to beat good quality teams, but have an uphill battle ahead in SEC race.

OU vs Baylor, Homecoming, 6pm, FSN.  Hope everyone has a great week!
